Submission Deadline: September 22, 2025
The Haus of Taylor is excited to announce our call for artists to participate in this year’s Fall Exposition, Forest for the Trees. Taking place in the breathtaking heart of Tazewell County, Virginia, this exhibition seeks to celebrate the majestic beauty of forested landscapes, with a special emphasis on the Appalachian Region. Running through October, November, and December 2025, this showcase will feature diverse artistic perspectives on nature and community, offering inspiration to both locals and visitors alike.
We’re inviting talented artists from all backgrounds to contribute their unique vision to this extraordinary exploration of the natural world and its deep ties to our communal identity during a time of cultural renewal surging in small towns like ours.
Theme and Medium
Our chosen Exhibition theme originates from the old saying: “Can’t see the forest for the Trees.” Meant to inspire artists to view things from a broad perspective, it invites submissions that capture the theme of forest and tree-based landscapes, blending the personal with the universal. We encourage works that reflect the splendor of the Appalachian Mountains while exploring the intimate relationships between humanity, nature, and perspective and perception.
Submissions are welcome across a wide variety of media, including but not limited to:
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Photography
- Mixed Media
Whether your approach is abstract, realistic, or experimental, we’re eager to see your interpretation of this theme.
